I have used MSN Messenger to communicate with my 2 boys and friends for years and found it very useful, especially when my younger son was home I could just msn him and told him to come up for dinner. As of Facebook I am very new to it however I found my 2 boys and some other people that I might know. It is quite an experience. I like the idea that it can link you to your present and old school, alumni and workplaces as well as catching up with friends around the world.

I use Facebook to communicate with friends around the world. Facebook also has interest groups you can join (many of a professional nature), and this is another way of keeing in touch with people of similar interests.
